History: Tiny will melt your heart. He is a sweet boy that just wants to be loved.
A note from the foster: Tiny joined us from a hoarding situation. After months of patience and love, Tiny has grown into the perfect little man! Tiny is a sweetheart who is very shy at first, but warms up fast and is very interested in greeting new people! He loves being outdoors where he can just hang out in the sun while you do yard work or sit on the deck with you while you relax. Tiny stays in the yard, and comes when he is called. We like to take him to the lake where he has a blanket we take with and he lays down next to me and seems to just enjoy the finer things in life. He even loves pontoon rides! Tiny LOVES food! Every morning and evening he gets green beans with his meal and enjoys an afternoon snack of either a bully stick or half of a greenie. Of course he also gets healthy human snacks such as carrots, peas, asparagus, etc. and he LOVES every single thing you give him. Tiny is not protective of his food or bones and you can easily take these things from him at any time. He will get sudden urges to play with toys, or his foster brother, however, normally he would just like to snuggle wherever you are. Tiny can also “dance” on his back legs, while begging for a treat, which he takes very gently from you. We have worked on trying to “sit” but he would rather dance and I haven’t forced him to do to many things he isn’t comfortable doing, given his history. Tiny has been doing great with going to do his business outside. Originally, he was not housetrained at all and it took us a few months to get a schedule down that worked for him so he would not have accidents. With lots of praise and rewards, Tiny has not had any accidents in the house for months! When we are only gone for short periods of time, 1-2 hours, we do not kennel him, and he does just fine. However, we do kennel him if we know it will be a longer period. We do leave the kennel door open and have a bone in there and he will go into his kennel to just “hang out” if he feels like it. Tiny is a professional snuggler and takes his job VERY seriously! He loves to go under the blankets, or just lay beside you. We also let him sleep in bed with us, and he sleeps under the blankets and won’t get out of bed until you do. Originally, he would never give you kisses and would give you signs when he was not comfortable with something, Now, he is all about kissing you on the nose and giving you hugs! We are so proud of how far he has come since he arrived and love him to pieces!
Tiny has been around other dogs and cats, and does great with them; he even tries to snuggle with his foster brother. He does not have any interest in the cat, in fact is more frightened of them if anything. Tiny has also been around younger children, however because he is very shy at first, I think a home with older children or without children would be the best fit for him. He does great with allowing them around him, but the kids that come into our home, I remind them that they need to let Tiny greet them, and to be calm around him.
Tiny would be a great asset to any family looking for a snuggling, little guy or a dog that does not “run”. He loves attention that he clearly missed out on for so long and would really enjoy a family who would love to give him a lot of belly rubs, green beans, snuggles and kisses
